University Homecomings

All three universities have homecomings scheduled this month and next, with social events, football games, class reunions, and worship services planned. 

First up is Hardin-Simmons University, with homecoming events this week, Oct. 15-18. Click here to register. Click here for a schedule. The Alumni Awards Banquet will begin at 6:30 p.m. Thursday in the Johnson Building. Winners of the 2026 Keeter Alumni Service Award and Distinguished Alumni Awards will be honored. 

The first-ever Alumni Vendor Market will be set up on the Newman-Richardson lawn 5- 8 p.m. Friday. It will feature goods and services offered by alumni with small businesses. At 1 p.m. Saturday, the HSU Cowboys will take on the Tigers from East Texas Baptist University. During halftime, the University Queen and King will be crowned. Homecoming will conclude with a family worship service from 9:30 to 10:15 a.m. in Logsdon Chapel. A light breakfast will be provided after the service.

Abilene Christian University’s homecoming is set for Thursday, Oct. 29-Sunday, Nov. 1. Click here to register. Click here for a schedule. The homecoming musical, “Fiddler on the Roof,” will be presented each day in the Boone Family Theater. Click here for tickets.

On Saturday, the Homecoming Parade will take place 9 to 11 a.m. The football game between the ACU Wildcats and the University of West Georgia Wolves will start at 3 p.m. at Wildcat Stadium. Homecoming events will conclude Sunday, Nov. 1, with a final performance of “Fiddler on the Roof at 2 p.m. in the Boone Family Theater. A Homecoming Choirs concert will begin at 2:30 p.m. in the Williams Performing Arts Recital Hall. A sing-along will begin at 2:10. 

McMurry University will hold its homecoming Thursday through Sunday, Nov. 5-8. Click here to register. Click here for a schedule. A Hall of Honor reception will be held 6-7 p.m. Thursday in the Mabee Room of the campus center. The Friday Festival will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on the Quad. Homecoming Coronation will begin at 7:30 p.m. Friday in Wah Wahtaysee Park. A pep rally, fireworks, and a jam session will follow at 8 p.m. in the Park. 

On Saturday, the McMurry War Hawks will take on the Howard Payne University Yellow Jackets at 1 p.m. in Wilford Moore Stadium. Homecoming events will conclude on Sunday with the Final Ala Cumba Ceremony and Reception at 10 a.m. in the Mabee Room and the atrium of the campus center.
