Catholic Parishes Fall Festivals
Local Catholic parishes will be hosting fall festivals, beginning Saturday, Sept. 26.
Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 837 Jeanette St., will have a two-day festival Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 26-27. Saturday’s events will be held 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday’s hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The festival will feature music, food booths, games, bingo, and a silent auction. A raffle will be held with 20 prizes total, including a grand prize of a $5,000 gift card. A Mexican breakfast will be served on Sunday.
The annual Jamaica at St. Francis Catholic Church, 826 Cottonwood St, is set for 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 3. The Jamaica, or festival in predominantly Latino Catholic churches, will feature food, games, and dancing to the live music of Eddie Gonzalez, Fantasia, and Big Tex A raffle will feature a $5,000 gift card as the grand prize. Second prize is a $1,000 gift card toward a Royal Caribbean cruise.
Holy Family Catholic Church, 5410 Buffalo Gap Road, will sponsor the Fall Classic Golf Tournament on Friday, Oct. 9, followed by a fall festival the next day. Both events celebrate the church’s 50th anniversary of becoming an independent parish.
The tournament will be held at Maxwell Golf Course, with check-in at 7:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 9. Breakfast and lunch will be provided. It will feature food booths, game, a silent auction, raffle, and a general store.
