Love & Care Ministries, 233 Fannin St., is getting a makeover and a Care Room for people in need of a safe place and someone to talk to.
The Care Room will be located in a current room that will be getting a new look, said Mark Hewitt, executive director. News of the makeover and addition of the Care Room were announced in a newsletter mailed to Friends of Love & Care Ministries.

The dining and clothing areas are getting new paint and flooring. The dining room also is being rearranged for better seating for guests. The kitchen is getting several new items, new paint and flooring, and a redesign. The Care Room will provide a comfortable space for clients to meet with staff.
“The Care Room will be a place where anyone can come in and receive love, a listening ear, and Jesus,” Hewitt said. “We hope to bring Love & Care to each person who enters that may be struggling with life.”
Initially, the Care Room will be staffed from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. daily, but that is subject to change as needed.
