OUT OF THE SHADOWS
Noah Project, a shelter for victims of domestic violence, will host an honor walk and candlelight vigil Oct. 18.
The awareness and tribute event, “Out of the Shadows,” will begin at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 18 with a proclamation at the Abilene Convention Center, followed by a walk to the Taylor County Courthouse for a candlelight vigil from 7:15- 8 p.m.
Noah Project opened its first shelter in 1980. In 1985 it moved to 1802 Grape St., where it remained until the completion of the new facility in June of 2012. It is now located at 5802 Texas Ave. In 1987, Noah Project-North opened in Haskell.
Currently, Noah Project serves the following 10 counties of West Central Texas: Callahan, Eastland, Haskell, Knox, Jones, Shackelford, Stonewall, Stephens, Taylor, and Throckmorton.
