COMMUNITY FOUNDATION SUPPORT

In response to the coronavirus epidemic, the Community Foundation of Abilene issued the following statement Monday afternoon, March 16:
The Community Foundation of Abilene is closely monitoring the effects of COVID-19 on our local communities. While there are not currently any confirmed local cases, a number of precautionary measures have been taken that will affect families and small businesses, and the situation is still evolving.
We know our community stands ready to respond, which is why we have established the Support Abilene Fund.
“This is a critical time for Abilene and for the entire nation. As a community foundation, it’s part of our job to respond during trying times like we’re facing now. We know how much the people of Abilene care about helping each other in time of need, and we’re honored to offer an effective way for them to do that,” said Katie Alford, CFA President/CEO.
Donations to this fund will provide funding to nonprofits assisting people and/or businesses who are disproportionately impacted by the Coronavirus and the economic consequences of the outbreak.
