In celebration of its 63rd anniversary, Ballet Folklorico de Alvaro Munoz will present Bodas y Fiestas de Mexico at 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 19, at the Paramount Theater.
“This beautiful dance production will take you through a beautiful journey as they present traditional wedding dances and Fiestas from the enchanted land of Mexico through the regions of Los Concheros, Hidalgo, Tamaulipas, Sinaloa Costa, and Jalisco,” a promotional email says.
Tickets are $18 for adults and $16 for children ages 8 and younger. Click here for tickets. Special guests include Mariachi Revolucion, a program led by Zachariah Machuca of Midland High School.
Ballet Folklorico de Alvaro Munoz, formerly known as Ballet Folklorico, was founded in 1963 by Martha Munoz at St. Vincent Pallotti Catholic Church. Among the earliest dancers was Alvaro Munoz, nephew of the founder who now directs the dance team. Click here for a history of Ballet Folklorico de Alvaro Munoz from its website.
