Spain Center Takes on White Supremacy in Police Departments

Dr. Jerry Taylor, founder of the Carl Spain Center on Race Studies & Spiritual Action, is asking friends of the center to form a prayer cell to begin functioning as a “Prayer & Meditation Think Tank” with individuals across the Carl Spain Center network.
“As you gather to meet virtually or by phone,” Taylor said in an announcement, “please ask those who are a part of your Prayer & Meditation Think Tank to periodically fast and meditate daily on 2 Chronicles 7:14 and Proverbs 14:34.”
The issue we ask you to lead your group in praying over and thinking about is the standardized recruitment and vetting process of the local, state, and federal law enforcement community. Please seek to identify differences that may exist between the recruitment and vetting processes of local police officers and the recruitment and vetting processes of federal law enforcement officers and the military.

The announcement said that at 3 p.m. Saturday, July 11, “we will convene to discuss the creative solutions discovered as a result of the spiritual soul work carried out in the prayerful fellowship of the Prayer & Meditation Think Tanks.” Specifics of the meeting will follow.
