STUDENTS HONOR MURDER VICTIM

The jar containing soil from the site where Grover C. Everett was murdered in Abilene in 1922 might as well have held his ashes for the sacred way it was treated by a group of McMurry University students who recently took the glass vessel to a museum in Alabama.
“That jar got carried like it was precious cargo,” said Marcus McCray, one of the McMurry students on the trip.
