A special place in the hearts of volunteers from Aldersgate United Methodist Church got a little more special during a recent mission trip.

A group of 10, including the pastor, Gary Boles, left Abilene on March 3 for Providence Place in San Antonio, the fourth trip for church members to the mission that until 2013 was named Methodist Mission Home.

The group knew that since the last trip, Providence Place had added a ministry to provide shelter and vocational training for survivors of sex trafficking and domestic abuse in addition to existing ministries, including being an adoption center.

Boles and team member David Feemster were especially familiar with the adoption ministry because when both were boys, their parents adopted newborn girls from the home, giving them sisters.

Though they both knew that history, Boles was in for a revelation of biblical proportions one morning as the group cleaned a small chapel at Providence Place.
