RELIGIOUS LIFE IN REVIEW
Each year, the Religion News Association asks its members to vote on the top stories of the year. They are stories of consequence, like this year’s top story, the Pennsylvania grand jury report that accused 301 Catholic priests of sexually abusing at least 1,000 minors.
The top religion stories in Abilene ususally don’t carry that kind of weight, but they are signifcant to the people who live here. All year long, every year, people of faith are doing good things in Abilene, enriching the lives of all Abilenians.
Some stories are just interesting, some affect members of particular congregations, and some affect a wider circle.
Each year, Loretta Fulton compiles a list of the top religion stories in Abilene to coincide with the release of the RNA list, which Fulton votes on as a member of the association.
