Funeral Set for Rev. Eddie Jordan
Funeral service for the Rev. Eddie Jordan, pastor of New Light Baptist Church, has been rescheduled.
A memorial service celebrating a life of faith, hope, and love, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 27, at First Baptist Church, 1333 N. Third St. The funeral originally was scheduled for Feb. 18 but was postponed due to the severe winter weather.
Rev. Jordan died Feb. 3, two days before he would have turned 67. His death came just a few days after he had undergone a kidney transplant. The kidney was donated by fellow Abilenian Tim Yandell.
Burial will be at the Texas State Veterans Cemetery, 7457 W Lake Road. Click here to read the full obituary on the funeral home website.

The Jordans are a wonderful family who have modeled the spiritual life for so many people for many years. Eddie will be sincerely missed, and Abilene will continue to pray for the family’s ongoing health issues. What a blessing that Eddie found Tim Yandell in those last days.
