AAC MEETS JANUARY 22
The Abilene Association of Congregations has an excellent speaker lined up for its Jan. 22 meeting.
Bob Delony, a former homicide detective for the Houston Police Deparment, teaches criminal justices courses at Abilene Christian University and works part-time for the ACU Police Department. Bob’s wife of 48 years, Dr. Mikee Delony, is chair of the Department of Language and Literature at ACU.

The meeting begins at 11:45 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 22, at First United Methodist Church, South Second and Butternut streets. Lunch is by donation. The public is invited.
Delony is an elder at Minter Lane Church of Christ and served a church as a youth minister while working as a homicide detective.
While working with the Houston Police Department, Bob was a homicide detective, hostage negotiator, internal affairs investigayor, and academy instructor. He also served the Humble Police Department as a detective, policy writer, IAD investigator, as a hostage negotation team director and trainer.
In March 2019, Delony was featured on an episode of “On the Case With Paula Zahn,” which airs on the ID network. The segment was about a double murder in Houston in 1984. Delony and his partner were the first officers on the scene. The case eventually went cold and wasn’t solved until 2015.
