AIC TO HEAR PARLIAMENT PANEL
A panel of 10 McMurry University students, professors and the university chaplain will present the program Tuesday for the monthly meeting of the Abilene Interfaith Council.
Title of the presentation is “Interfatih Immersion: Learning Through Experience.” The panel will talk about connecting what they learned at the recent Parliament of the World’s Religions to interfaith work in West Texas.
The program, which is free and open to the public, will begin at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13, in Matthews Auditorium, Old Main, McMurry University.
The Parliament of the World’s Religions met in Toronto Nov. 1-7. In addition to the McMurry representation, Rob Sellers, religion professor emeritus at Hardin-Simmons University, ended his tenure as chairman of the board of the Parliament.
Also attending was Jacob Snowden, president of the Abilene Interfaith Council. Snowden is director of Christian education at First Central Presbyterian Church.
