“Oh, my gosh, I can’t believe this,” the homeowner said as members of First Central Presbyterian Church replaced a warped outside door with a brand new metal one.

That comment was repeated many times Saturday, Oct. 20, as members of FCPC and Pioneer Drive Baptist Church hit the streets early to weatherize a number of local homes.

Fittingly, at least two of the houses had expresses of faith on their houses. One hanging plaque read, “Angels Gather Here” as volunteers from FCPC worked underneath it. A house that members of of Pioneer Drive Baptist Church weatherized had a plaque on the front door that read, ” Faith, Hope & Love, But the Greatest of These is Love,” from 1 Corinthians 13:13.
