‘TIS THE SEASON

The Christmas season roared into Abilene the first week in December, with something for every taste available every night.
The Abilene Downtown Association’s annual City Sidewalks hit the streets running, with the Christmas tree lighting, parade, caroling, food, and more.
Not to be outdone, Hardin-Simmons University staged a fun evening of music and the lighting of a tree on Dec. 2. The tree lights added to the already impressive flood of lights on campus, with practically every tree wrapped that can be seen from Ambler Avenue.
And, members of Aldersgate United Methodist Church gathered in their community garden the night of Dec. 4 to light their tree.
Christmas Day is still a couple of weeks away, but there’s no excuse for not being in the Christmas mood, with plenty of music and other activities still to come.
