Hi, I’m Laura Lacey Johnson.

When my kids were little, they loved to play the “hot-cold game.”

It’s a game where players find a hidden object by listening to verbal temperature clues.

For example, “you’re getting warmer,” means the player is getting closer to finding the object.

But, “you’re getting colder,” means the player moved away from the object.

The game reminds me of what can happen to our hearts.

As we move closer to God, the warmth of His love fills us and radiates to everyone around us.

But as we move farther from God, our love for others can grow cold.

In Matthew 24:12 NLT, Jesus said, as time goes on, “Sin will be rampant everywhere, and the love of many will grow cold.”
