Scripture Passage: Mark 14:34
“My soul is overwhelmed with sorrow to the point of death,” he said to them …” Mark 14:34 NLT
Do you ever feel overwhelmed?
Whether it’s watching the news or what we face in our personal lives, it’s easy to feel this way.
Thankfully, we’re not alone.
Hi, I’m Laura Lacey Johnson.
Jesus felt the crushing weight of suffering, turmoil, and pain.
Before his crucifixion, Jesus said, “my soul is overwhelmed with sorrow to the point of death” (Mark 14:34 NIV).
Then, Jesus fell to the ground and prayed.
I’m grateful Mark recorded this story in his Gospel. It’s a beautiful example of what we can do when anxiety threatens us.
Next time you start to feel overwhelmed, do what Jesus did.
Get on your knees and pour out your heart to God.
Such humility can position you to receive strength and wisdom for the journey ahead.
