AAC to Hear McMurry Dean of Students, University Chaplain
Ricky Harrison, newly named Dean of Students at McMurry University, will be guest speaker for the monthly meeting of the Abilene Association of Congregations.
The public is invited to the luncheon meeting at 11:45 a.m. Wednesday, April 22, at Highland Church of Christ, 425 Highland Ave. A $3 donation is suggested for lunch. The program is free.

Harrison, a 2014 graduate of McMurry, is Dean of Students and University Chaplain. He was named University Chaplain and Director of Religious and Spiritual Life at McMurry in 2023. He will continue to serve as University Chaplin, while Russell Miller will be Director of Religious and Spiritual Life and Assistant University Chaplain.
After earning a bachelor of arts in religion from McMurry, Harrison added a master of divinity from Duke Divinity School in 2017. He served as a church minister before coming back to McMurry in 2023. In a story for Spirit of Abilene in September 2023, Harrison cited his McMurry experience as giving him direction for his life
“I’m incredibly excited to be back in Abilene with the McMurry community,” he said. “McMurry was one of the places that enabled me to most clearly hear God’s call on my life, and I hope to offer that same gift of grace to new generations of young people.”
