City Manager to Speak at Association of Congregations Meeting

The public is invited to hear Abilene City Manager Emily Crawford speak at the monthly meeting of the Abilene Association of Congregations on Wednesday, March 25.
The meeting will be held in Gerhart Hall at the Episcopal Church of the Heavenly Rest, 602 Meander St. Lunch will begin at 11:45 a.m. A $3 donation is requested for lunch.

Crawford became Abilene’s city manager on June 25, 2025. She previously was city manager for the city of Brownwood. Crawford has been in local government since 2011. Before that, she worked for 12 years in marketing and administration for various private and public entities.

Crawford has a bachelor’s degree in Health and Wellness Promotion from Texas State University, a master’s degree in Organizational Development from Abilene Christian University, holds a graduate certificate in mediation, and is a graduate of the Public Executive Institute at the LBJ School of Public Affairs, UT Austin. She has been highly involved in the Texas City Management Association for several years and is the statewide president for the 2025-2026 term. She and her husband, Scotty, have been married since 1996.
