Emily Gurley, director of campus advocacy at Communities in Schools of the Big Country, will be guest speaker for the November meeting of the Abilene Association of Congregations.

The public is invited to the meeting, which will begin with lunch at 11:45 a.m. Nov. 20 at Grace Lutheran Church, 1202 S. Pioneer Drive. A $3 donation is requested for lunch. 

Gurley will talk about the work that the organization does and share ways that congregations can be involved. 

The beginning of the organization’s belief statement says:

“CISBC is committed to building and fostering an organizational culture which embraces the vast diversity reflected in our community. We are committed to treating all people with dignity, fairness, and involvement in everything that we do and represent.”
