National collection week for Operation Christmas Child is Nov. 12-19. Many local churches, organizations, and individuals are participating.

Filled boxes are shipped to more than 100 countries through Samaritan’s Purse, an evangelical and charitable organization operated by Franklin Graham.

Filled boxes can be dropped off at your church if it participates or at First Baptist Church, 1133 N. Third St. or Wylie United Methodist Church. 3430 Antilley Road. Call either church for drop-off times, First Baptist, 673-5031, or Wylie UMC, call 698-3409. All three Chick-fil-a restaurants in Abilene will collect boxes one day only, Nov. 17, during regular business hours.

A $9 donation per box is requested to pay for shipping and a booklet called “The Greatest Journey.” The booklet is given to children along with the Christmas box.
