About: Abilene’s Award-Winning Ballet Folklorico de Alvaro Munoz will present dances from the regions of Hidalgo, Yucatan, Chihuahua, Jerez Zacatecas, Nayarit, La Revolucion, Fusion Veracruz, Jalisco, Yoremadas Sierrenas, Sinaloa Mestizo and Sinaloa Costa.

Traditional dances from several regions of Mexico will be featured when Ballet Folklorico de Alvaro Munoz stages Alegria Mexicana at 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 27, at the Paramount Theater.

Dances will be presented from the regions of Hidalgo, Yucatan, Chihuahua, Jerez Zacatecas, Nayarit, La Revolucion, Fusion Veracruz, Jalisco, Yoremadas Sierrenas, Sinaloa Mestizo and Sinaloa Costa. 

Special guests will include members of the Abilene Ballet Theatre, Proyecto Folklorico De Sacramento California, Anastasia Flores Dance Company of Dallas, and Ian Lopez Aguilar, Mariachi Singer

Ballet Folklorico de Alvaro Munoz is the new name for the former Ballet Folklorico, which was founded in 1963 by Martha Munoz at St. Vincent Pallotti Catholic Church.
