FCPC Festival: ‘The Journey of Faith’

By Loretta Fulton

A renowned theologian, pastor, scholar, and author will be in Abilene Sept. 14-15 as guest speaker for the annual Festival of Faith at First Central Presbyterian Church, 400 Orange St.

The public is invited to hear Dr. Craig Barnes, President Emeritus of Princeton Theological Seminary at all his presentations, which are free.

Barnes was president of Princeton Theological Seminary from 2013 to 2023. A promotional email says this about him:

“Always popular with the students, he would speak to a jam-packed seminary chapel each week. Once you hear him, you will understand why!”

Theme for the series is “The Journey of Faith.” Among Barnes’ books are When God Interrupts, The Pastor as Minor Poet, and Diary of a Pastor’s Soul.

“Dr. Barnes brings both pastoral depth and academic insight to the Festival of Faith,” said Cliff Stewart, pastor of First Central Presbyterian Church.
