Special Holy Week Events

Two special events, both free and open to the public, will be held on Thursday and Friday of Holy Week.

On Maundy Thursday, April 17, St. James United Methodist Church, 3100 Barrow St., will present a special program, “Women Who Walked With Jesus.” The public is invited to the free presentation beginning at 6 p.m. a promotional flier says:

“You have heard the stories of Jesus and His Disciples, those twelve men who followed Him.  But what about the women? Well, this night, you will hear from seven of the other followers—the women who walked with Jesus and the twelve. Join us on Maundy Thursday and hear their amazing stories.”

On Good Friday, April 18, The Way of the Cross, an outdoor Stations of the Cross, will begin at 5 p.m. at St. Paul United Methodist Church, 525 Beech St. It will process to First Central Presbyterian Church’s meditation garden at North Fourth and Beech streets. The Way of the Cross is hosted by the Abilene Association of Congregations.
