More than ever before
I’m praying for peace
This Christmas season.

Peace in our fragile world
Where any day we could
Annihilate ourselves.

Peace in our divided nation
Where we have barely survived
A contentious election.

Peace in our prayers
For a President many of us
Did not support but many did.

And, yes, he needs our prayers
And, yes, he needs my prayers
For our country, for our world.

Praying this Christmas
For civility, for common sense,
For peace, for hope, for good will.

Praying this Christmas
Like never before
In my eight decades.

Peace to those in power
Peace to those not in power
Peace to you and yours.

Peace. Jesus is Lord.
Believing that with all my heart
And soul. Merry Christmas.
