Winter Lightfest Lights Up Nov. 30
By Loretta Fulton
Winter Lightfest, which benefits the United Way of Abilene, opens Saturday, Nov. 30, and ends on Saturday, Dec. 28.
In between those dates, you’ll have 13 chances to see the magnificent light display, which is a partnership between the United Way and Christmas Decor by Lone Star Electric. This is the sixth year for the display, which features a three-quarter mile paved walking path through almost 3 million lights with photo ops, Santa, a scavenger hunt, hot chocolate, s’mores, and more.
Location is at 2250 EN 10th St. No cash will be accepted at the gate, only debit or credit cards. Gates open at 5:30 p.m. each day the park is open. Trail hours are 6-10 p.m. The last admission is at 9 p.m.
On Sundays, a Holly Jolly Character Pre-Party will be held at 5 p.m. Ticekts are $20. S’’mores packets and food trucks will be available while meeting the Holly Jolly characters. Also, for an additional charge of $7, a Bark at the Park will be held on Dec. 8 only, beginning at 6 p.m. On that day only, guests can bright their dog. Advanced ticket purchase is required.

The following is from the United Way website:
