The 25th annual Mission Thanksgiving is coming Friday, Nov. 22, in the parking lot of Arrow Ford and in Clyde, Merkel, and Anson.
The event is the major fundraiser of the year for Love & Care Ministries and annually brings in 10 to 11 semi-trailer loads of food, clothing, bedding, bottled water, and winter needs. Cash donations also are accepted. Checks can be mailed to Love & Care Ministries, 233 Fannin St., Abilene, 79603.
“Through the past 24 years of Mission Thanksgiving, we have been truly blessed by the incredible donors of Abilene and the Big Country,” said Mark Hewitt, founder and executive director of Love & Care Ministries.
This year’s Mission: Thanksgiving in Abilene, Merkel, Clyde, and Anson will be held 7 a.m.-7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 22, in all four locations. Love & Care Ministries provides some meals onsite, showers, and sponsors the CarePack for Kids ministry that provides food for weekends and school holidays.
Monetary donations of $500 or more will ensure listing as a Wall of Love Sponsor.
“But always remember, any donation, big or small, becomes a great blessing to those we serve,” Hewitt said.
