Heavenly Rest Features Creation Care Series This Fall
The Episcopal Church of the Heavenly Rest, 602 Meander St., is hosting a Creation Care Series this fall.
The public is invited to the free sessions. Kicking off the series on Sept. 11 will be Kendra Jernigan, associate professor of environmental science at Abilene Christian University. All sessions begin with a meal at 6 p.m. in Gerhart Hall, which faces South Seventh Street. The program begins at 6:30 in the same location. An offering will be taken for the meal.
The series will be based on Earth, Our Original Monastery: Cultivating Wonder and Gratitude through Intimacy with Nature by Christine Valters Painter.

“We will be encouraged to discard distractions and see creation as a sacred, holy space that is alive with divine possibilities,” Jernigan said in the church’s newsletter.
