The Abilene Interfaith Council invites the public to join in an interfaith event during the Jan. 11 ArtWalk in downtown Abilene.

The event will be held at the Center for Comtemporary Arts, 220 Cypress St., beginning at 5:30 p.m. Activities will include reading interfaith children’s books and making lanterns.

“This is a great event for children of all ages to learn more about respect and kindness,” a promotional email said.

The January gathering will be the first AIC event of the new year. Programming runs from September through May.
