Volunteers are needed to assist with the 2019 Summer Point in Time Count, aimed at getting an exact count of the homeless in Abilene. 

The count will take place Thursday, Aug. 29. Volunteers must take part in one of two trainings, either 12:30 p.m. Aug. 20 or 12:30 p.m. Aug. 27. 

Also, donations of $10 gift cards are requested. They will be given to the people contacted as a token of appreciation for participating in the count.
