BISHOP ADDRESSES SORROW, JOY
The Rt. Rev. J. Scott Mayer of Abilene, bishop of both the Episcopal Diocese of Northwest Texas and the Diocese of Fort Worth, wrote an opinion piece for the Fort Worth Star-Telegram titled, “Making Sense of Sorrow and Joy.”

Bishop Mayer
It was published after the May 18 Texas school shooting and the May 19 royal wedding, where the Most Rev. Michael Curry, presiding bishop of the Episcopal Church in the United States, preached a sermon on the power of love. Mayer expounded on the following question: “Sorrow, anger, delight, joy — how do we make sense of such a range of emotions? How, in a weekend in which we see school children murdered and lovers marry can we form right actions framed in God’s love?” To read the article in the Star-Telegram Click here
